Kalikinkar Dey, a prominent contemporary Indian sculptor and installation artist known for his monumental public works and architectural interventions. With over three decades of artistic practice, he has established a strong presence in India’s public art landscape by seamlessly blending traditional sculptural techniques with modern materials and contemporary visual language.
Working across mediums such as stone, bronze, stainless steel, corten steel, and fiberglass, he creates large-scale sculptures and installations that engage deeply with architectural space and cultural memory. His works are characterized by their scale, material innovation, and sensitivity to site, often transforming environments into immersive artistic experiences.
A graduate of B.K. College of Art, Utkal University, and the College of Art, New Delhi, his artistic journey has been shaped by both academic rigor and extensive field practice. His works are part of major collections, including the National Gallery of Modern Art and Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, and have been showcased in numerous national and international exhibitions.
