About the Artist

Paramjeet Singh, a distinguished Indian artist and educator whose career seamlessly bridges artistic practice and academic leadership. A graduate of the College of Art, New Delhi, he served the institution for decades, eventually retiring as Officiating Principal while shaping generations of artists.

He has exhibited extensively across India and internationally, with his works showcased in countries such as the UK, Germany, Mexico, Iran, Cuba, and Australia. His contributions have been recognized with several prestigious honours, including the National Award from Lalit Kala Akademi, the President of India’s Silver Plaque from the All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society, and a UNESCO award.

Artistically, his work explores themes of human figures and nature, often reflecting calmness, introspection, and personal space. Deeply influenced by Sufi philosophy and literary traditions, his compositions frequently feature symbolic elements—most notably the parrot, representing wisdom and guidance—creating a dialogue between the physical and spiritual realms.
